Inked Varmits (Ongoing Series)

Ink on colored paper.

A series of freehand ink portraits of new and old friends. Each person is initially asked to choose an animal, after which I proceed to complete an observational drawing of them as said animal whilst in the same space as them. This, alongside their choice of animal, forces me to tap into each person’s essence outside of mere likeness, emphasizing how they choose to express themselves and have themselves perceived. The series currently consists of 25 drawings.
